Chimney Cleaning
For centuries,
chimney sweeps have shown a strong commitment to helping people prevent the
problems associated with chimney fires. Over the years chimney sweeping
has evolved from an old world art to a modern day science.
Sweeping
chimneys requires specific techniques, skills and specialized tools.
In addition to our professional expertise, we have a large investment in
equipment specifically designed to help remove hazardous soot and creosote
from your chimney.
We use
clean drop cloths and a high power vaccum to control the dust, soot and creosote.
All fireplace cleanins are done from inside the home in order to control the
dust and soot. All wood & coal stoves are swept from inside or
outside the home with dust control.
Although
the work is dirty, you won't even know we've been in your home after we roll
up our drop cloths. We leave nothing behind but your peace of mind.
Chimney Inspections
In addition to chimney cleaning, another important service we perform is a
written inspection of your chimney. We include an inspection as part
of a regular cleaning. The National Fire Protection Association recommends
that chimneys should be inspected annually and cleaned as needed. This
is a good guideline and, if followed, would eliminate most chimney fires
and other chimney problems.
There are other times when a chimney inspection should be performed, and we
have listed some of them below:
Immediately after a chimney
or furnace fire.
Whenever the service of the
chimney is being changed.
Adding
a woodstove to a fireplace, or converting from
an oil
to gas furnace, installing gas logs.
Whenever you are considering
the purchase of a home
with a
chimney. Make sure the chimney inspection is
performed
before the closing.
Whenever you suspect any
type of storm damage.
Lightening
stuck the chimney, high winds blew the cap
off, visable
damage to the chimney or crown. |
